Green on the Go

When Spencer Brown and two children - a twin boy and girl - moved from Ladera Ranch to Huntington Beach (they now live in Tustin), the amount of trash they produced stopped him in his tracks.
Fueled by a desire to create a less-wasteful world for his children, he started to clean up how America moves.
Rent a Green Box (founded in 2006 as EarthFriendlyMoving) rents zero-waste packing products for residential, business and commercial accounts. RECOPACKS (containers made from recycled plastic waste from landfills) rent in quantities of 30, 50 and 70. Also, the company’s delivery pallet - the Poopy Pallet - is made from recycled diapers, and vegetable oil-powered trucks deliver the RECOPACKS. “(It’s) moving made simple,” says Brown.
And America has noticed - Rent a Green Box was recognized as a WasteWise Partner by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in April. But Brown looks to the future: The company is working on a three-year national expansion.
