Rent-a-Green box is America’s first, comprehensive, zero-waste pack and move solution made entirely from post consumer recycled trash mined from local landfills. Our mission is to provide relocating business and residences with an authentic and genuine earth friendly packing and moving alternative that will save time, money and Earth.

We convert massive quantities of post consumer trash to make really cool earth friendly packing and moving products that replace traditional and expensive supplies like cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, and Styrofoam peanuts that are really bad for our Earth.

To date, we have 7 unique products made from various types of post consumer trash. We mine landfills and recycling centers for hard to recycle hdpe #2 plastic bottles, millions of used baby diapers, end of life cardboard sludge, end of life newsprint sludge, post consumer packaged food boxes like cereal boxes and frozen food packaging, end of life recycled aluminum cans and tons of plastic bottle caps to make our earth friendly moving products.

Our system is remarkably simple. After determining how many Recopacks you’ll need for your upcoming move with our online Box Wizard or speaking with one of our eco- agents; we’ll reserve, take payment and e-mail you a confirmation for your order.

On your date of delivery, we’ll deliver the Recopacks direct to your garage. You pack, stack and move. When they’re all unpacked and restacked, just call us and we’ll come and pick’em up from your garage. It’s just that simple… it’s moving made simple.

Why are we cutting down our trees to make a cardboard box to pack and move with it once maybe twice, just to throw it away in a landfill, when we can use our trash as a new resource to change the way we pack and move in America.

When you pack and move with a new or used cardboard boxes it’s a triple negative. It’s bad for the ecology since we have to cut down a tree to make a cardboard box. It’s bad for the environment because when you recycle a cardboard box, about 40% is used to make another box and the 60% non usable sludge is either burned releasing C02 emissions and soot into our atmosphere or it’s dumped into a landfill. And it’s bad for our economy as we spend a lot of time, energy, fuel and resources to recycle this material.

The real problem is that when the cost of gasoline costs more than $3.00 a gallon, it’s just not cost effective to recycle used cardboard boxes, so they end up in a landfill. Industry then focuses on cutting down new trees, to make more boxes, that again will end up in a landfill. The first, zero-waste pack and move solution in America!

Rent-a-Green Box.com ( formerly called Earth Friendly Moving ) is the first, comprehensive zero-waste pack and move solution in America. Founded in Orange County last year, Spencer Brown, a local OC resident and eco-entrepreneur is converting massive quantities of trash mined from local landfills into a suite of sustainable, cradle to cradle, packing and moving products.

Applying his patent pending, NANO technology to hard to recycle plastic trash, he converts all of those colorful plastic bottles found under your kitchen sink and laundry room into a series of three durable, rentable and reusable moving boxes called Recopacks which stands for [ recycled ecological packing solution ]. They’re the replacement for cardboard moving boxes that save relocating residents and businesses time, money and Earth. They last over 400 round trip applications and when they expire, we just grind them up and make another Recopack!

As a zero-waste, cradle to cradle company, Spencer has also brought to market a comprehensive suite of cool and unique 100% post consumer trash based recycled packing materials that are the replacement for traditional petroleum based materials such as Styrofoam packing peanuts, foam sheets and bubble wrap. Geami paper is the replacement for bubble wrap and is made from 100% recycled cardboard sludge.

 

 

Recocubes are made from recycled newsprint sludge and fortified with plant vitamins and minerals. After unpacking, just toss them into your garden as compost and they’ll feed your trees.

For non gardeners, we offer Expandos, which are made from recycled cereal and packaged food boxes that can be returned right after your move and are used 100’s of times before being recycled into more Expandos. We even take water bottle caps that litter our streets and landfills to make colorful eco zip ties that are used to seal Recopacks in transport- totally eliminating the need to fuss with that messy tape.

We even give you a bag to return the cut zip ties, so we can grind them up to make them again. We also remove millions of used baby diapers from the landfills to make our famous Poopy Pallet.A fter washing, sorting and separating the layers, we use the anaerobic plastic outer shell as binding filament and mold it with recycled black plastic which replaces the need to cut down a tree to make a wooden pallet. Each Poopy Pallet is made from over 700 of these stinky baby diapers that would never breakdown in a landfill- even after 10,000 years! ( and no they don’t smell- you can check for yourself, when you place your order.)

All of these eco friendly packing and moving products are delivered direct to your door on our fleet of trucks powered by waste vegetable oil and bio-fuel, reducing our carbon emission footprint by over 78% on each delivery. For every 100 Recopacks rented, we remove over 500 pounds of hard to recycle plastic trash from our landfills, prevent over 350 pounds of packing and moving waste entering our landfills, save over 300 gallons of drinkable water used in the manufacturing process, save over 50 gallons of foreign oil used in the milling, manufacturing, transporting, and distributing process, as well as eliminate over 2,500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions from entering our atmosphere.

We do not allow self service moving box rentals or blind warehouse pickups and drop offs. Our business model is based on having our fleet of delivery trucks, powered by waste vegetable oil and bio-fuel deliver Recopacks direct to your door and we pick them up when you’re done.
